Titus 2 Tuesday

Titus 2 says: Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. 4Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, 5to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.

Today my thought are on my sweet friend Mary. I meet Mary for the first time several years ago when we joined a new church. We had been attending for a few weeks when it was time to meet Mary.

Mary had been home bound taking care of her ill husband, which I had never met until this night. The night was at the visitation at the funeral home. Her sweet husband had gone to be with the Lord. She is such a sweet lady. I do mean lady. She is so kind to other, puts others first, herself last. She tends to the sick, takes food, flowers and sends cards when needed.......She is always poised, calm and has an open ear. Mary is what we all strive to be.

I have been honored to attend a few ladies outings with Mary and she always has a way to make you smile. You just can't be in a bad mood when your around Mary. She really makes you look at what is important in life and just what isn't. ......Our church is a bit of a drive for Mary and she doesn't drive at night, so Mary attends the church in town now with some of her sweet widow friends. I miss Mary. I think I will give her a call right now and set a lunch date with her.
