Titus 2 Tuesday's

I love Titus 2 Tuesday. I make sure that is the one day I don't forget to blog. Today will be a little different. I have several women I want to focus one who have inspired me to be a better person.

It was August we headed to Amarillo for our first girls trip together(which I need another one) We laughed and we shopped. We also decided to get fit.The one on which I brag today is AMY H. She started my whole fitness freak attitude. We started running and she was such an encourager......I have since learned I really hate running(another blog post another day)Amy you always encouraged me and kept me going and showed me the gym and what to do, and gave me confidence to go on my own...you are an inspiration to me and a huge credit to my success.Love ya girl.....

Soon after that I decided to make my new year count and step out to make new friends. I figure I would have to take the first step, so I did. I asked my new friend CHARLA J. to lunch. She said yes. I encourage all of you to do this, get to know people, really get to know them. Anyway she was a blessing. She is so sweet and loves the Lord with all her heart, and turns to Him always and that inspires me to do the same. She has such a great spiritual side, I love that about you Charla, thanks for being a sweet friend.(we are due another lunch)

Next up is AMANDA KP. you may not really know it but you have encourage me when I was down, and lifted me up with your kind words. Weight loss was huge for me and you always were my cheerleader......we don't know each other very well , we say hi & bye from time to time(I'd like to change that) but in blog land your so sweet in your comments. Thank you.....words can touch a soul, yours did.

And finally,JACKIE......I am so glad your getting healthy with me. You keep me going because I don't want to disappoint you if I don't show up at the gym LOL.You are an inspiration when I was loosing all my weight you never said ugly things to me like some did and you never were jealous about my success. You celebrated sometimes more than me . You help me pick out a new wardrobe and were so glad to do it. You are and will always be my fasionista, and shopper.I have grown to love you and your girls like they were my own. You always listen even when I talk crazy........Thanks for just being you, and for inspiring me to be a better listener.

Titus 2 Tuesday

Titus 2 speaks of women who have given knowledge, inspiration, & growth to someone. My Titus 2 women this week is my friend Angie. Angie and I have known each other for as long as I can remember. Our parents were best friends so we were together alot in our younger days. As we grew and my father past on, our parents grew apart, and so did we. We spent many years apart, getting married, having children, living our own lives. God is so funny at times I think. He knows just when to give you a friend.

In 2002 the Pregnancy Center of the Rolling Plains opened it's doors. Angie and I had gone through the same training required to volunteer. It just so happened we volunteered on the same day at the same time. Angie and I got to reconnect. It was awesome. Still every Monday I get to see her smiling face. She is the one I can tell anything too , she listens and then will say"let's pray". She always offered me good advice, she loves people who may not deserve it, she loves all walks of life. With the clients she sees at the center, not one gets out without her praying for them. She has such a strong faith, and a huge heart,which inspires me to have one as well.

Angie, you will always be a huge influence in my life, although we drifted apart and had almost the same life separately, and crazy family members to deal with we both stayed in the Lord. I know I can count on you in a heart beat. You brought me food when I was sick, gifts just because, and calls to make sure I was alright and I will never be able to count the prayers you have prayed over me & my family. I love you sister. Your a true Titus 2 girl. Have a a great week.

Thursday's Thought???

As I sit at my desk at the center, I wonder. How many people are there out in our world who are hurting and have no one to talk to if fear of judgment. Judgment we all dance around that word when we are judging don't we? I have(confession) How many people could be told about Jesus? Do you ask? Not as much as I should (confession) It seems every time I talk to people they are struggling, and I find that sad and confusing. With so many out of jobs, yet I never see a classified ad out of the help wanted section. When did people get so picky about where they work? A job is money right?Some people I feel sorry for others I don't, aren't we supposed to love them all the same? I need too. (confession) I really urge you to talk with people and when they are experiencing troubles ask them have you prayed about it? Pray with them, sometimes that means the world to them. Here at the Center we try to pray with every client before they leave,for some it's the hug they never get anywhere else. Can you believe I have had people in here that haven't been hugged in years, and never before? Share God's promised, His peace, His word, and hug someone.

Post 2 of the day

I called my sweet friend Amy H. and told her I had officially arrived in Hortonville. (just kidding BTW)My family is starting to finally get well, or at least we are on the tail end of it, then Matt my youngest comes home with a horrible neck and head pain. With all those kids at school being sick with mono and other things I didn't want to take any chances. We head to the clinic. He is fine just a huge crick in the neck, so glad for that. We hurry home so we can change and get to the funeral visit with the Moore family. My brother in laws mom past away( we are so praying for them) anyway on the way out the door in the mirror I noticed I am covered in a huge red rash????? It is everywhere. I had to go that way, still don't know why I have it still do this morning???? And no I didn't use the Mentholatum on my chest just my feet(read next post about that below)I am in Hortonville and need a map out of here......LOL....Love you Amy H. Happy Hump Day.

Home remedies

I have grown up all my life knowing that Mentholatum could cure anything. I think it does. We have been so sick at our house , and I don't really like playing nurse so much.......anyway I want to recommend you try this great smelling jar of power. I went to bed last night blobbed it on the bottom of my feet (I mean really clump it on)and then put socks on....this morning no drainage or sore throat. I really think it helped. It also makes your feet so soft so 2 advantages. Vick's Vapor rub will work too, I just like using what grandma did.Try it.

Titus 2 Tuesday

Today I am reflecting on Titus 2( what we learn from other women) My late grandmother Oleta King, was a great woman. She passed away when I was still very young & dumb you might say. Still trying to make it in this world and thought I knew it all. Looking back over my countless memories of her, the one thing that sticks out over and over is she showed me Jesus. She never let us miss church, she was a rule follower. We never missed a 5th Sunday singing(she was baptist)Church was very important to her and her duty to share Christ with us. I wish I had a picture of her Bible to show you. My mother let me comb through it last summer,it is covered in ink. Ink she added on every page. Notes she took from sermons, a prayer request, a telephone number of a friend in need , an address to take a meal,and her thought about God. That was her notebook on life.

As I poured over the pages I was overwhelmed. I was reminded how active in the church she was. She could sing oh my could she sing. I still tear up to the Old Rugged Cross and what it meant to her every time we sing it. Did I mention she always had Big Red gum, well she did. Never seemed to have run out of it, I think every grandma has something like that we can remember.

I just wished I had the chance to tell her all of this, she would have been so proud. God is so good, all we need to do is open our eyes,look around, help the hurting,listen to those in need, and count our blessings, So maw-maw (King) this one is for you. Thank you Lord for blessing me with a sweet grandma who showed me your wonderful grace and mercy.

I have to give my friend Charla J. a huge shout out, for making my new header. What you didn't notice, look up it is so cute. She is so talented. Wish I knew how to make one. Anyway thanks dear friend it was so sweet of you to fix me one, my blog needed some updating.



On another note I am going to start a series on Tuesday's called Titus Tuesday. Read Titus 2 in your Bible and you'll understand. Each week I will write about a woman that has taught me something. I have made my goal weight...Yeah for me, so I took the ticker off. It happened I guess today who knows but the scales never lie do they?I am just so proud of myself . Can't believe it took me 15 years to decide to do it.For those of you who are still working on it keep it up I am your biggest cheerleader. You can do it. Happy Friday to me and you.

Crazy week

When will I ever catch up..........I have been in such a rush it seems. I have had something on my calender everyday for the last 2 weeks. I hate over scheduling myself. I so admire you mothers who manage to do it all with more than 2 kids.How do you do it? you are my Super Women.........I have to learn to start saying NO every now and then. I have 2 days a week off most of the time and I decided to give one up my Friday's for a second job.(Part time 1 day a week) I can't tell you how excited I am to start this........tomorrows the day, I am planning to have a great day. All else is well with my soul and family ....Thank you Lord for that. Had a touch of the tummy bug ,and I hate that. Had the dish man out for repairs today and 5 hrs later have some of it fixed........Does anyone blog any more??? Got a $3,000.00 grant for the Center today, can I get a AMEN!!!!!!......that was like opening a huge Christmas present. God is so good isn't He? Maybe after Friday I can breath and have some down time this weekend........NOPE ,I remember Kyle wants to start painting the house........Lord be with me, give me strength, love sister Belinda
