Pastor with Guts

This is a long read but worth it and please feel free to pass it on............

DID THIS PASTOR NOT HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD?

A Pastor with GUTS!

Thought you might enjoy this interesting

prayer given in Kansas at

the opening session of their Senate. It seems

prayer still upsets some

people.. When Minister Joe Wright was asked to open

the new session of the Kansas Senate, everyone was expecting the usual generalities, but this is

what they heard:

Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask

your forgiveness and to seek your direction and

guidance. We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those

who call evil good,' but that is exactly what we

have done.

We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed

our values.

We have exploited the poor and called it

the lottery.

We have rewarded laziness and called it

welfare..

We have killed our unborn and called it

choice.

We have shot abortionists and called it

justifiable.

We have neglected to discipline our

children and called it building self esteem....

We have abused power and called it

politics.

We have coveted our neighbor's possessions

and called it ambition.

We have polluted the air with profanity and

pornography and called it freedom of expression.

We have ridiculed the time-honored values

of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.

Search us, Oh, God, and know our hearts

today; cleanse us from every sin and set us free.

Amen!

The response was immediate. A number of

legislators walked out during the prayer in

protest. In 6 short weeks, Central Christian

Church, where Wright is pastor, logged more than

5,000 phone calls with only 47 of those calls

responding negatively. The church is now receiving

international requests for copies of this prayer

from India , Africa and Korea .

Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on

his radio program, 'The Rest of the Story,'and

received a larger response to this program than any

other he has ever aired.

With the Lord's help, may this prayer sweep

over our nation and wholeheartedly become our

desire so that we again can be called 'one nation

under God.'

If possible, please pass this prayer on to

your friends.. 'If you don't stand for something,

you will fall for everything.'

Think about this: If you forward this

prayer to everyone on your

e-mail list, in less than 30 days it would be

heard by the world.

How many people in your address book will

not receive this prayer......do you have the guts to pass it on?

Junior Year

Junior year for Matt started this morning.
I am so proud of him. He set his alarm,
got ready, then asked me to help him
roll up his sleeves, and then possed for this

He is so handsome....
Then he drove HIMSELF to school
and I laid my head back onto the pillow.
Life is Good!

When, Where, and What

The hubby and I headed out to the farm last evening to set up 2 deer blinds......well he sat them up and I rode around on the 4 wheeler looking at God's country.

I saw lots of things from the nice clouds that gave us shade to the rain in the FAR distance. I began to think about things. Like my history (past) if you take the word history and break it up you get HIS-story.  You know those things you go through and make it out alive sometimes. Our HIStory is what God uses to glorify Himself.

 2 Corinthians 1:3-5 says this
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. 5 For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ.

I took this picture while we were at the farm, it's not pretty , it's a mess.

It's the place over the years we have put our junk = mess
But see God uses our mess and turns it into a MESSage for others
our HIStory is a comfort for someone else who may be going
through the same thing you did years ago and you can help them.

Something else God showed me out on that HOT farm yesterday

You see sometimes we tend to do what we want to, when we want to and how we want.
That's our sinful flesh. Well sometimes I have to have God's help to go the right direction.
Which means I need something blocking my path.
In some cases I need 2 barb wire fences not one. See one I could get over
pretty good without too many scratches
but 2, much more difficult.

God sometimes says NO, but He also has to put up a fence or two.

Wild hunt

Kyle and I spent most of the 4th of July at the farm. We took things to finally trim the trees on the road we use through the farm. That took several hours. We also moved feeders to new location and relocated a few cameras. So fun to see what's on the cameras.

Look at those shoulders....ok you don't I will

I really did some work too, I just happen to carry the camera
Later that afternoon we went back to the farm to just sit at the water troff to see what was coming in. Well everything comes in, it's the only water for miles around. Saw 3 roadrunners that was cool until one decided to try and sit in the pickup with us......not fun.

I also saw some mule deer as I road the 4 wheeler around while kyle did some last minute work.

Next we went around and sat at the feeder and waited til dark for hogs.
This one really needs to go....

I also shot a raccoon, he was coming straight for me and those little suckers climb,
but didn't find him or my arrow.
We bow hunt you know.

 My view of the feeder
Can you see my hubby in all these trees????

Me messing around with the camera, I was hot, bored
and oh dear no make-up oh well

This was what made it all worth wild.
Sitting in this creation the Lord made
and just soaking it up
and praising Him for letting me see it.

So proud and muddy

Yesterday we head to a church social and we see a HUGE grass-fire.....heard it was bad and thought it was near our church but luckily it wasn't.

To make a long story short......I am very proud of my oldest son. Now out on his own he has gotten involved with the community and helping the fire dept out. You can guess he was on this fire I mentioned at the top of the post....yes..... anyhoo.. When he goes on the fires he has to leave his child at home alone. Yes his 4 legged child that goes EVERYWHERE with him including work.

Well Rosco( AKA- Child) gets mad because he is left and doesn't understand it is for his own sake.....and likes to get even and chew things up.

So the son asked us to check on the dog on the way home. I knew what I would find , and he would want to go with me. Yes I have spoiled him a little........ So he came to my house needless to say he had a bath, then outside all day and in the water and dirt...which he LOVES......equals one muddy caked on dog again.

So 2 baths in 24hrs and he is headed home first thing in the morning. You should see me and the hubby trying to have room to lay in the bed with a DOG that is the size of me! But I love him anyway.

muddy feet it was worse, all over my house

Post update: the delivery of this beast has now been postponed to tomorrow evening. Oh dear!

just a little date

The hubby and I are finding more and more time together since the oldest moved out and the youngest working alot. It's a new chapter in our little book we call life.I didn't like the book at first but it's growing on me. We are just doing things spur of the moment these days which I LOVE!!!!!!. We've been bike riding a few times and I survived. It's nice not to have a schedule you might say, you just do it.

Last night I knew Kyle was wanting to run to the farm this weekend to check the game camera. He has asked me several times do we have any plans? I wanna go to the farm sometime. So last night I said why can't we go right now? His eyes lit up. Nothing like seeing that look in my mans eyes. As we went , did the job, and came back this was what we saw at the water tank. October will be here soon enough, but I love seeing the wildlife as much as he does now! Just a little date that meant a lot to us.

I did get out and try to sneak up for a better picture, I knew Kyle was watching me. He must have thought I looked like Elmer Fudd creeping up the hill to grab a better shot. (with the camera, not a gun)

We laughed and had fun. That's all that counts.

Answer to prayer

Almost 18 years ago I said a simple prayer that would change my life. I was not in a good place and I ask God to pick the man and send the man I needed to spend the rest of my life with.......I did, if you can believe, let God have this request and let it go from there.

A few months later the romance started. I knew he was the one. You know when you have that gut feeling of peace. 5 count them 5 short months later, I married the man I let God choose for me. That is why I know he is still here 17 yrs later.

Kyle, I love you with all my heart and nothing comes before you except my heavenly father that placed you with me.

Yesterday we celebrated what a wonderful father Kyle is to our boys.

Today I celebrate and thank God for June 20th, 1969 when Kyle was born just waiting for me.

I love you baby !!!!! Happy Birthday.

Boys and Toys

Where do I begin??? PART 1
This month has been CRAZY to say the least. About 3 3/4 weeks ago(Yes I count) my oldest went out into the real world and into his own. I helped him move, packed him up , cleaned new place, unpacked him. That way he could work and he could come to his new house with everything in it's place. I just wanted it right for him.

I will say I cried the first night (still adjusting don't tell)....you see He was the last one in the house every night and when he came home my nest was complete and safe and everyone home....I could sleep.
Now someone else has to remember to shut the back door and turn the back porch light out.(still adjusting)

I will say I am so proud of the way he has taken on this responsibility, we have visited a few times taking things to him(like his DOG) and the house is clean and orderly.....He is a good housekeeper, I think I have taught him well......He still just keeps amazing me. Although he had me come out to sit and wait for the satellite guy???

PART 2

The youngest......did I mention this was a rough month......this boy turned 16 yesterday. He is growing to fast. I am the short one now. He has muscled up and voice is deep, and he has a JOB, and after tomorrow morning he will be able to drive himself anywhere without me.........

Grandpa gave him a 1986 Ford truck 4 x 4 huge. The first thing he did was rip everything out and added a stereo system...below you can see how proud he is of it...proof he knows how to clean...so I am wondering what's up with his room now?

Wow he even knows how to work the shop vac....

the trucks old but she was FREE ...
now he is saving his $$$$$ for paint job and wheels.
Boys are fun.

We finished out the birthday with a family lunch. Hubby took us out to eat and even the oldest showed up for a free meal and even if he never admits it, to celebrate with his brother.
I was shocked when he gave his brother a wad of cash for his birthday.
I almost passed out to tell you the truth.
Another reason I love my boys, they blow me away sometimes and like each other.

I am very proud of both my boys, God said  we are
to train them up to be good men.
I have faith He will finish the rest.
Thank you Lord for blessing me with 2 really good boys.

The man I Love

Happy 17th Anniversary to the sweetest, most loving man I know
I love you baby.....here's to many, many more
friday the 13th, has been very lucky for us!

A boy and his dog.....hang on Rosco
               Stay boy.....
Both of these boys love the DIRT. It's a shame in Texas we have to water before we can plant this year.
I say we, not us . The son works for a great farmer and I steal sweet family photo's from time to time when we go help...

My boy hard at work.

I'll just stand here boss, in the shade.

Let the water flow.

I love you!

My electrician, playing farm hand for the evening, changing water.

Wish that was rain coming....it's smoke from a big grass fire.

Rosco your not suppose to cross the road.

yip....my boots are still dry

I only kept this one because the boy was in the background.
this is a delete pic if I ever saw one!

MOM, make sure you angle the water socks into the row I am redirecting it to.
Not his exact words, but best I could explain my instructions to you LOL
you might not understand farmer talk.

Love helping and hanging out with my boys even when there is work to be done.
Have a great weekend.

Pride

My name is Pride. I am a cheater.

I cheat you of your God-given destiny.....because you demand your own way.

I cheat you of contentment...because you "deserve better than this."

I cheat you of knowledge...because you already know it all.

I cheat you of healing...because you're too full of me to forgive.

I cheat you of holiness...because you refuse to admit when you're wrong.

I cheat you of vision...because you'd rather look in the mirror than out the window.

I cheat you of genuine friendship...because nobody's going to know the real you.

I cheat you of love...because real romance demands sacrifice.

I cheat you of greatness in heaven...because you refuse to wash another's feet on earth.

I cheat you of God's glory....because I convince you to seek your own.

My name is Pride. I am a cheater.
You like me because you think I'm always looking out for you. Untrue.
I'm looking to make a fool of you.
God has so much for you, I admit, but don't worry.....
If you stick with me
you'll NEVER know.......

Isn't it enough?

I hear stories all the time about being too busy. We have no time for Bible study, no time for prayer.
My heart aches to hear these words.
I used to be there, not so long ago.
I went to the father when I was in need then felt guilty for asking. I hadn't been there any other time, seemed it was always just asking.

I spend alot of my time now just thanking.Thanking Him for the day He made for me.
I am not promised tomorrow, gotta live today to the fullest.
That may mean just listening to someone else even when I am in a rush.

You see God gives us opportunities each day. How many times do we miss it.
Hungry ,hurting people all around us,yet we don't open our mouths to say Jesus loves you, or
to just give a hug when no words are needed.

The Bible is a piece of clothing I have to put on daily, it's my weapon, my protector, my counselor,my guide, my how to book, my what do I say or do now pamphlet, my get a better attitude  brochure.
Why would we ever go through the day without it.

I have tried to make it through the day without it, I have ignored it for weeks and months on end.
It was the most miserable time in my life. That book we call God's word, well you see it makes a difference.
I can not make it through the day without it.It goes where ever I go.
I challenge you to just open it and read wherever the pages fall.

You see one day we will stand nose to nose and eyeball to eyeball with God the Father.
He will ask, "why was my son's blood not enough for you"? You will answer.
I want to be able to say," Thank you for your Son"!

Things of this earth mean nothing, except love one another.

When I am afaid
I will trust in You
In God, whose Word I praise
In God I trust,I will not fear
WHAT CAN MAN DO TO ME?
Psalms 56:3-4

Just thoughts in my head today..................

on your knees

There is nothing like being on your knees before the Lord even if it is just for a minute.

God in everything is what He wants from us....even in Baseball!

Thinking and Thanking

I have really been thinking for the last 10 days or so about my life. What have I done with it what have I not done. We all have a purpose, and some days I don't feel like I know what that is, or what to do with what I do know.

Today I ponder my 1,000 gifts. It's something new I started a few days ago. Writing down all the gifts God has given me and being thankful for them. Sure makes you look at this world and the people in it differently. Even makes me handle problems, stress and issues differently than I ever would have before.
Like gift # 11 trials that make you grow
#20 laundry piled on the bed
                # 30 friends for lunch
               #  101 Wal-Mart
               #152 a field of donkeys
               # 155 afternoon with Matt shopping

Yes all gifts just like the last breath I took...........Makes you stop and think, may even change your life. It has mine. I am not even close to 1,000 yet but I sure love the time getting there. Jesus didn't promise it would be easy, He said we would have trials to build our faith, and nothing more than we can bear.

With tears rolling down my face...# 161 tears of joy........Missing grandma today. I know I have an anchor in Heaven.......I can't wait to get there.

Saturday's

This is what we do most Saturday's
Watch  the youngest son play baseball.
Below is buddy camp they had the day before. K-5th grade kids buddy with a high
school baseball player and learn the game. So cute and so fun to watch. The boys help train up the little ones.

The son warming up before the game.

I'd like to say this one was lifting holy hands unto the Lord,
but no. Still more warm up.

Catching a great play on 1st. not his normal position
and he had a great game.

Warming up before the big HIT

and FINALLY my favorite part of the whole thing

The team gathers together before each game in the field
and says the Lord's Prayer
Hearing this chant of large deep manly
voices brings a tear to my eye every-time
I hear the Lord's prayer......and it should.

the Words spoken straight from the mouth of Jesus
coming out of 15 yr old boys.
Love it!

One Thousands Gifts

I have NEVER read a book written in this style.
It truly is a life changer.

I'm still reading it, but had to say
"I HIGHLY recommend this book."
Get it for yourself, you will not be disappointed.
