Book Review

Well it's my review anyway. I just finished this book. It really caused me to question the church organization...not God....I would love to know your opinion .
I love out of the box books and this certainly is one.I highly recommend this as one of your next reads. If it did anything, it caused me to really dig deep into my BIBLE.(still digging) I love it when that happens. Has anyone else read this book???? Let me know your thoughts on it.

LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this book. It was actually a huge confirmation in my heart that many of the things I was beginning to see in the "church" as an organization were not just in my head. As you said, it is not about questioning God, only the society in which we live and what we have turned relationship with God into. If you liked this book, you would probably also like "Authentic Relationships" by Wayne and Clay Jacobsen. Wayne was one of the writers on the book you just read, Jake Colsen is actually a pen name.

May you be abundantly blessed on your journey!

Yes, yes, yes! I loved this book, B! Honestly, I think in many ways God has nothing to do with organized religion, if that makes sense.

Do you read MckMamma's blog, My Charming Kids? She posts about not being religious, but knowing she is going to heaven because she believes and accepts that Christ died on a cross for her every sin and that without Him she would have no eternity.

Reading Blue Like Jazz and then this book really begins to make you think about organized religion in a whole new way.

Thanks for posting!

This is so timely for me. I will read this book ASAP. Thank you for the review. I am in a slump in church attendance, will this book help me?

I have not read the book but I would like too - I like being a part of corporate worship - I have a great Sunday school class - called homebuilders - couples with children.. and I like church - I really do get something out of it.. I have a good friend that has church in home on Saturdays for the people who do not like corporate church and you know what I think that is okay too - God wants us to worship together - whether it be 3 o 4 or 300- 400..

Love your post.
Love,
Kelly
